Held in down town near Scotty's and the Hamel Village Hall. Route 66 Motor Club TourEach year in mid-June, the Illinois Route 66 Mototr Club tours its way through Hamel, returning to a day back in time. These folk still stop to enjoy one of the many landmarks, such as Tourist Haven Restaurant and Hotel, now known as Scotty's Old Route 66 Restaurant & Bar, to enjoy a bite to eat and an ice cold drink, meet friendly folks, see the vintage model cars, or maybe kick back and reminisce about Route 66. Historic WalkA historic walk through Hamel happens each fall. This is a walk back in time, a chance to experiance the way life used to be, and to discover how a little farming community known as "Hamel's Corner" became the Village of today.
