| Hamel is part of the Edwardsville
Community School District #7 and the site of the district's newest
grade school building, the Hamel
Grade School, constructed in 1969. The school offers grades Kindergarten
through third. Students in grades fourth and fifth attend school at Worden
Elementary School. Students in the area attend Edwardsville
Middle School for grades sixth through eighth, and the Edwardsville
Sr. High School, the newest school building, completed in 1997, for
grades ninth through twelfth.
In addition, Hamel area students have the option of Christian Education at the Trinity/St.Paul Lutheran School. Trinity/St. Paul offers education for grades Kindergarten thorough eighth.
